Bulletin board with geometric shapes

Looking to organize your important documents, hang your keys or display some of your fondest memories? Look no further! Making this colourful bulletin board is a snap!

  • Rectangular canvas (framed)
  • Acrylic paint
  • Masking tape
  • Coloured cord or string
  • Scissors
1

Start by placing a strip of masking tape down the middle of the canvas to define the section to be painted.

2

Next, attach additional strips of tape to this section to form geometric shapes.

3

Paint the resulting shapes in a variety of colours. Let dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Apply a second coat if necessary. Once the paint is sufficiently dry, carefully remove the masking tape.

4

Cut the selected string to the desired length (taking into account the height of the frame and number of wraps required around it) and wrap it around the canvas once while keeping it as taut as possible. Tie a knot in the back of the canvas.

5

Continue wrapping the string several times around the canvas so that it criss-crosses the other strings to form geometric shapes. Tie the other end of the string securely to the back of the frame.

6

Hang the frame on the wall using simple nails.
